Topshop, Zara & Burger King to open in South Africa

The heavens have heard our cries and these chain store giants are about to enter South African soils.

TOPSHOP

The very first Topshop store, as announced by their Facebook page is set to open end July in Johhanesburg. The store in Cape Town is set to open in November! Just in time for that Xmas wish list!!

BURGER KING

Okay there have been too many rumours surrounding when and where the first Burger King store is to open in SA. The truth is that they are “currently assessing the opportunity in SA for the Burger King brand” (Sanford C Bernstein analyst Sara Senatore). Burger King fancies itself a global brand with a worldwide restaurant portfolio, and find emerging markets like that of South Africa to be very attractive. Problem is, we already have strong brands represented by Famous Brands who are very-well established in South Africa, let alone Africa. But enough of the politics and just pass my a Whopper please?

ZARA

Sandton – November – Oh yes.Guess we’ll have to be visiting Johannesburg more often then. The Zara is set to carry a collection designed for the Southern Hemisphere that is in line with offerings in Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.

Now the only thing missing is a big fat H & M – I have checked and there is a petition running on this matter. Not like it’ll make a difference, however it is okay to dream :)

*****NEWS ALERT*****

Since the creation of this post. Both Topshop & Zara have stores in Johannesurg and Cape Town.

Burger King will be opening on the 9 May in Heerengracht Street Cape Town.AND  they’re giving 1 000 free whoppers to their first 1 000 customers.

THANK YOU GOD.

  1. Oh my gosh, seriously a Topshop in CT? I’m going to have to save up so that I can spend immense amounts of money there during the December holidays :) what great news, thanks so much for posting this! Xoxo

    • There is definitely something fishy going on with all this Topshop hype – I must agree with you! I’ve gone back to the initial source, which seems to be flashing RED. I mean, they advertise job opportunities through a Facebook friend, rather than legitimate site, &not only is no CV required, but all it takes is a message to their inbox with your personality traits! Oh my, some-one has far too much time on their hands to be willing to create such a sham.

  2. Hell ya burger king has to open in cape town. Since leaving london I miss that burger king burger so bad. So please make it happen.
